Acceptance & New Beginnings

Acceptance

So, let's talk about letting go.

My girlfriend and I came up with a new game idea that, in theory, sounds great. But here's the thing, I still haven't let go of my last 'great' game prototype.

My Bowling Prototype

In my blog post on April 22, 2026, I discussed the importance of knowing when to call it quits. But my brain didn't fully digest the memo because it is now over a month later, and even though not much progress has been made, I still can't shake thoughts like -

'Maybe if I just give it another week, it will all come together'

Clearly, I have attachment issues.

As I said in my previous post -

'Moving on doesn’t mean forgetting.'

So, this time I'm going to step away from my bowling prototype for longer than the ‘Indie Game Clinic COLLAB JAM 26’ where I made the game 'Coal 4 Cash' with my girlfriend. This means my bowling prototype will sit on the back burner for at least a month because -

'If there’s something real there, it’ll come back. It always does. Ideas have a funny way of tapping you on the shoulder again when you’re ready.'

New Beginnings

I'm going to explore my new game idea and hopefully create something solid, unique and incremental. If you want to learn more about my next game design journey, then subscribe so you get notified about my next post regarding my game dev journey.

That's all for today.

Remember that starting something new doesn't mean that you are giving up!.
